Mid-Pacific Tours was founded by Samantha Glenn and Clifford Schleusner — two lifelong ocean professionals with a combined background in marine science and over a decade of experience guiding on Kona's waters. Sam studied marine science and has worked on the water for nearly 7 years, managing and captaining for other boat tour companies before deciding to build something better. After seeing the industry from the inside, she and Cliff recognized exactly where the experience could improve — and set out to create a tour company they'd actually want to book themselves.

The result is Mid-Pacific Tours: a small-group operation built around genuine wildlife encounters, knowledgeable guides, and a commitment to keeping things personal. With a maximum of 6 guests per trip, every tour is intentionally intimate — more space in the water, more attention from the crew, and more of the ocean you came to Hawaii to experience. How many people are on each tour?

We cap every trip at 6 guests — no exceptions. That means more space in the water, more personal attention from our guides, and a better overall experience compared to larger commercial tours.

Do I need snorkeling experience?

No experience needed. Our guides provide full briefings, all required gear is included, and flotation devices are available for every trip. Our tours are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels.

What tours do you offer?

We offer Manta Ray Night Snorkels, Kona Snorkeling & Marine Animal Excursions, Pelagic Wildlife Tours, and Private Charters. Winter Whale Watching is available seasonally. Note: we do not offer scuba diving or fishing trips.

How long are the tours?

Most tours run 2 to 4 hours depending on the experience. We'll give you all the timing details when you book so you can plan your day accordingly.

Are you insured?

Yes — Mid-Pacific Tours is commercially insured, and all tours are operated by experienced, knowledgeable crew with backgrounds in marine science and ocean guiding.
